J & R Vintage Auto Museum
3650 NM Hwy 528
(Albuquerque) Rio Rancho, NM 87144
(505) 867-2881
Located 15 minutes northwest of Albuquerque, this place is a MUST for fans of pre-war (pre-1945)
American cars and/or the Great Race. This private museum has over 50 restored vintages cars and trucks - best of all, it
features 10 that have run the Great Race. The "jewel" is a 1917 Mormon that won the race in 1995. I drooled so
much while visiting the EPA had to be called in to clean up. . . . BEWARE - The gift shop is awesome! Featured

Wow! Four generations of Unsers are honored here. The museum features uniforms, trophies,
about a dozen or so cars - from Pike's Peak winners to Indy winners. There is a video that chronicals the family's
involvement in racing. VERY IMPRESSIVE! Make time to see it. Featured HotSpot

This is a small, but great museum! They have a couple of Elvis' cars on display, a real 428 Cobra autographed by Carrol
Shelby and several other cars as well as antique automobile stuff.

This is EXACTLY the kinda place I had in mind
when I started this list. Who knew that on the family vacation from Texas to the Grand Canyon, we would run into this
cool little mon-n-pop museum. Its $5 to get in and well worth it. There are about 20+ cars on display, some for
sale. Its mostly '50s and '60s era iron with a good dose of hot rod. Nice gift shop. Nice people.
